OPEN SKATE -- INDOOR ICE  - Mitchell Activities Center   2009 - 2010

Location:  1001 North Minnesota    Mitchell Activities Center is a regulation indoor hockey arena (Home of the Mitchell Marlins), with open skate hours for pleasure skating.  Restrooms, concessions, locker rooms, ice sharpening & skate rentals are available.   

Located between the Middle School and Cadwell Park Softball Complex.

Regular Hours -- November 9 - March 12

Monday through Friday 3:30 – 5:00
Sunday Evenings 6:30 – 8:30

Holiday Hours     Closed on Christmas Eve Day and Christmas Day

                         2:00 - 5:00pm Weekdays Dec 28 - Jan 1 Including New Year's Day

Daily fees are $ 3 per child, $3.50 per adult.  Group Rates are available for groups of 8 or more.    Skates are available for rent for $2.00, or you may bring your own


Open Skate Season Passes and Punch Cards

Family Season Pass: $60 -- for an 18 week season, this averages out to about $ 3 per week! This is great for families with more than one child, or even with families with just one child if Mom or Dad attend Sunday skate every now and then!

Punch Card -- $30 --enjoy 20 skate admissions with your punch card. A punch card can be used by more than one person. Can be used for skate rentals and entry fees.

Ice Skating Lessons

Learn To Skate 2009  - Kindergarten - 3rd Grades

Mitchell Activities Center Ice Arena | Saturdays, November 7th, 14th & 21st

9:00 - 10:00a.m. Kindergarten through 3rd grade  fee: $12.00
(new hockey players participate for free)

This program is designed for young skaters and teaches the basics of skating.   Use of skates is included in the fee.  Wear warm clothing, and a light pair of gloves.  Bring two pair of socks to insure a good fit with the rental skates.

Introduction to Skating -  Lessons for 2nd - 5th Grades

We will be offering 3 sessions of skating lessons for non-hockey players this season.  Each session will consist of 3 lessons, with a 30-minute instruction followed by 20 minutes of supervised skating time.  The lessons will be held in the center area of the ice arena, during regular open skate.  Instructors will be members of the Parks & Recreation Ice Arena Staff, and all are high school hockey players.  Fee is $8 per person, which includes skates and the three lessons.  For your convenience registration will be taken at the Rec Center, at the Ice Arena, and online.

Session 1:   Thurs Nov 12, Tues Nov 17, & Thurs Nov 19    4:00 - 5:00  fee $8

Session 2:   Thurs Dec 10, Tues Dec 15, & Thurs Dec 17    4:00 - 5:00  fee $8

Session 3:    Mon, Tues & Wed December 28 - 30    1:00 - 2:00   fee  $8

OPEN SKATE OUTDOOR ICE  2009 - 2010

Munroe Park Outdoor Ice Arena will open for the season over School Christmas Vacation.  Come out and enjoy the old-fashioned pleasure of outdoor ice skating!  Munroe Park is located at West 11th & Edmunds Street. The facility is not staffed, but lights are on a timer so evening skating is possible.  Parental supervision is recommended for young skaters.  Bathrooms are available at the MAC Arena, two blocks away. The ice will be available as weather permits.

Hockey play is restricted to the West Side.  Recreational Skate is on the East Side of the rink.
